This is how i made a fuel pump access hole in my 96 Bronco. also made one in my 88 the same way. If you have a bad fuel pump or sunken float i recomment this far more than dropping the tank. It has saved me from dropping the tank numerous times already. I dont have exact measurments but this should giuve you an idea. to make this took me less about an hour total which dropping the tank took me all day.

I estimated about where the fuel pump would be by looking underneathe rthe truck were the fuel pump was located. I cut a hole through the carpet but it may be better to just pull the carpet up. I cut a big enough area to where i work easily.
