The story

Rebuild in progress. Rescued in 2002 from 5 years abandoned in dirt lot.
Replaced: All electrical wiring. Door seals. Window seals, belts, channels. Rear window motor, belt. Side mirrors. Windshield. Cap slider windows, seals. Steering gearbox, tie rods, track bar, bushings. Front anti-sway bar brackets, bushings. New parking brake cables and assemblies. Electric fuel pump conversion. Edelbrock Performer 1400 carb. New 5/8in fuel lines. New 4-core radiator. Stock intake, filter. 2.25in exhaust from manifold to Y collector, single 3in with Flowmaster 50 out the back.

Additional items: Protofab 308 front bumper. 32in BFG AT radials on 8in chrome mod. wheels. No suspension lift. No body lift. New AM/FM Cassette. Dual battery with isolator. LED tail lights, side marker lights, turn signals.

Factory specs: 1978 Ford Bronco Ranger XLT. Candyapple Red/Wimbeldon White hood and roof Tu-Tone exterior. Black interior. Front bucket seats. Center console. Swingaway spare tire carrier. Sliding cap windows with vents. Rear sway bar. Power steering. 32 gallon tank with skidplate.

Hand rebuilt emissions system from scratch. Passed all emissions checks. Odometer reads 17,000 but it is probably 217,000.

1978 Ford Bronco — Ujoint failed on the road. Flailing driveshaft got into the wiring harness. 1978 Ford Bronco — Broken and greasy u-joint caps on the axle. 1978 Ford Bronco — Ujoint took a beating on the pavement.
