2004 Ford F-150
About the 2004–2008 Ford F-150
The eleventh-generation Ford F-150 covered the 2004 through 2008 model years and was the first F-150 built on a fully boxed frame across the line. It launched for 2004 with two engines, a 231-horsepower 4.6L two-valve Triton V8 and a new 300-horsepower three-valve 5.4L Triton V8, both driving four-speed automatics. A 4.2L Essex V6 returned as the base engine in regular-cab two-wheel-drive trucks from 2005, and a five-speed manual remained available, with 2008 the last F-150 model year offered with a manual transmission. Ford sold the body in Regular Cab, SuperCab, and SuperCrew configurations. For 2004 Ford also kept the previous-generation truck in production as the F-150 Heritage, a rebadged 2003 model offered in XL and XLT trim alongside the new design. Trims expanded over the run to include XL, STX, XLT, FX4, Lariat, the King Ranch, a returning Harley-Davidson edition, the FX2 Sport, and a supercharged Foose Edition for 2008.
