After a few hundred miles, I dropped the pan, changed the filter & gasket (it was leaking), and added an aftermarket drain plug kit to the pan. In addition to the supplied nylon washer, I sealed around the drain with RightStuff, and I used a chisel to lock the nut to the tube.
