The old cowl allows leaves and large junk to fall in the holes and down into the heatorbox and vent. thes molds and dry out and cause rust/rot and bad smell in the ventalation system. so i decided to upgrade to the newer multi-hole cowl. I like the look. i was told this was a direct bolt on. i found there is different cowls after i started. i could have left the one i made but the correct one would have been a direct bolt on and missing the 2 newer washer heads.
