The valve lapping "station" is my 6" Record vise. Keeps the heads almost level allowing for ideal lapping. Keep everything in the order it came out as that valve wore together with "that" guide, against "that" seat, etc. I use the old seals jammed onto the stems under the rack to lock them in.
