The fluid pickup seal, which is still stuck on the pickup snout. This is very common and should be watched for. Without the new one going on properly, again you'll have no fluid suction.

Walker 54016 gets you a mandrel bent 2 1/2" Dynomax tailpipe for the Impala SS. This just so happens to pass over the axle perfectly. From there to the back bumper you're on your own, but it's just straight pipe required and maybe a turndown or ricer...

Weeks before I planned on putting on the 3G 130 amp alternator I started soaking the bolt threads on the old 2G alternator and it's brackets.

After twisting out about 10 or so bolts with a 10 mm socket, the pan drops and you get your hair washed in ATF. Some of the fluid goes into the drain pan, but most goes on you and the floor. Now you are left looking at the valve body and filter.

Ah ha ! Found this replacement harness plug at NAPA. Part # FPC-100 runs around $6.00. Looks like the answer to my prayers !

Two 2 1/4" pipes enter, One 3" pipe exits. This is Flowmaster Y collector part # 300214A. At $34.00 it's a pretty good deal. They claim it's worth 25-40 ft/lbs of torque and after using it on my Bronco I believe it !

Halfway down, with the cat on, but frankly this is stellar pipe bending on my buddy's part. It's tight to the body, clears everything and will flow like the dickens I'm sure !

Although we saved the driver's side air pipe, intact, the Y-pipe (after the stock cats it "Y"s back into a single) was pretty rotten and had holes.

5.0 litres only need 2" flare ends for the manifold ball. By using a reducer (increaser in this case) I can get it back to 2 1/4" like the Flowmaster Y collector requires.
