The 1990 Chevrolet Cheyenne was the base trim level of the fourth-generation C/K 1500 pickup, the GMT400 platform introduced for 1988, sitting below the Scottsdale and Silverado trims. It was offered in regular and extended cab forms on the half-ton 1500 chassis in two-wheel and four-wheel drive. The standard engine was a 4.3 liter V6 rated at 160 horsepower, with optional 5.0 liter (175 hp) and 5.7 liter (210 hp) gasoline V8s, plus a 6.2 liter diesel V8 and a 7.4 liter V8 on heavier configurations. Four-speed and five-speed manual and automatic transmissions were available.
