Chevrolet Cheyenne
1998 Chevrolet Cheyenne Specs & Photos
The 1998 Chevrolet Cheyenne was the base trim of the GMT400-generation C/K 1500 pickup, near the end of that platform's run before the 1999 Silverado replaced the light-duty models. It used Chevrolet's Vortec engines: a 4.3 liter V6 (Vortec 4300, about 200 hp), a 5.0 liter V8 (Vortec 5000, about 230 hp), and a 5.7 liter V8 (Vortec 5700) rated at 255 horsepower. It was offered in regular and extended cab forms on the half-ton 1500 chassis in two-wheel and four-wheel drive, with manual and automatic transmissions. Cheyenne remained the entry trim below Scottsdale and Silverado.
