The 1995 Chevrolet Lumina launched the redesigned second generation, moving to a rounder body on GM's updated front-wheel-drive W-body platform and offered only as a 4-door sedan, with the coupe role passing to the revived Monte Carlo. The base 3.1L L82 V6 produced 160 net horsepower, a 20 hp gain over the previous 3.1L, while the LS trim offered an optional 3.4L LQ1 DOHC V6 rated at 210 horsepower. A 4-speed automatic (4T60-E) was the only transmission for both engines. Trim levels were base and LS, the LS replacing the former Euro designation.
