The 2011 Dodge Challenger received a major powertrain update within the third generation (LC platform). The base V6 became the new 3.6L Pentastar (305 hp), and the SRT8 392 adopted a 6.4L (392 cubic inch) HEMI V8 rated at 470 hp, replacing the 6.1L. The R/T continued with the 5.7L HEMI V8 (372 hp automatic, 375 hp manual). The 2-door coupe used a 5-speed automatic or a Tremec TR-6060 6-speed manual.
