The 1999 Dodge Durango added a rear-wheel-drive version after a four-wheel-drive-only launch year. The 3.9 liter Magnum V6 appeared as the base engine on two-wheel-drive models, with the 5.2 and 5.9 liter Magnum V8s carrying over. Seating for up to eight and the 115.9 inch wheelbase continued unchanged.
