2000 Dodge Durango Specs & Photos
The 2000 Dodge Durango began replacing the 5.2 liter Magnum with Chrysler's new 4.7 liter PowerTech SOHC V8, rated at 235 horsepower and paired with the new 45RFE automatic transmission; four-wheel-drive models received the 4.7 first while two-wheel-drive versions kept the 5.2. The 5.9 liter Magnum remained at the top of the range, anchoring the new-for-2000 R/T package. The PowerTech had debuted in the 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee and made the Durango one of the first Dodge trucks with an overhead-cam V8.
