The 1968 Ford F-100 replaced the 352 FE V8 with the optional 360 and 390 FE V8s and adopted federal safety updates such as side marker lights. The 240-cubic-inch and 300-cubic-inch inline-sixes remained the base engines. The 1968 Ford F-100 stayed in the fifth-generation "Bumpside" line with SAE gross horsepower ratings.
