The 1965 Ford F-250 was the three-quarter-ton model of the fourth-generation F-Series (1961-1966) and received a major mechanical update that year. Two-wheel-drive F-100 and F-250 trucks gained Ford's new Twin I-Beam independent front suspension, and the inline-six lineup was replaced by the 240 cu in (3.9 L) six rated at 150 hp gross and the new 300 cu in (4.9 L) six rated at 170 hp gross. A 352 cu in (5.8 L) FE V8 was the optional eight. Body styles included Styleside and Flareside pickups, chassis cab, and stake, with 3-speed and 4-speed manual transmissions.
