The 1977 Ford F-350 swapped the FE-series 360 and 390 for the 351M and 400 M-block V8s, the biggest powertrain change of the dentside years. The 300 inline-six stayed on as the base engine for the one-ton. 1977 was also the year the F-Series became the best-selling truck line in the United States, a run that has continued ever since.
