The 1965 Ford Fairlane received a one-year restyle with squared body lines echoing the new full-size Fords, the final update of the original 1962 intermediate platform. The 289 reached 225 hp gross in four-barrel A-code form, and the 200 cubic inch six took over as the base engine. An all-new Fairlane was already set for 1966.
