1980 Ford Fairmont Specs & Photos
The 1980 Ford Fairmont continued on the Fox platform with a revised engine roster. The 302 cu in V8 was dropped and replaced by a 255 cu in (4.2L) Windsor V8 rated 115 hp net, paired exclusively with a three-speed automatic. For 1980 only, a turbocharged version of the 2.3L (140 cu in) inline-four, shared with the Mustang Cobra and rated 120 hp, was offered in Fairmont sedans and coupes, while the naturally aspirated 2.3L four (88 hp) and the optional 3.3L (200 cu in) inline-six (86 hp) remained. Body styles carried over as two-door and four-door sedans, the station wagon, and the Futura coupe.
