The 1964 Ford Galaxie wore heavily sculpted new sheetmetal on the last year of the full-size platform introduced for 1960, and Motor Trend named the 1964 Ford line its Car of the Year. The 427 FE returned at 410 horsepower gross with a four-barrel or 425 horsepower gross with dual quads, above the 352 and 390 FE V8s and the base 223 six. Hardtops carried the semi-fastback roofline into its first full model year.
