1966 Ford Galaxie Specs & Photos

The 1966 Ford Galaxie line added the 7-Litre, a distinct hardtop and convertible series built around the new 428 cubic inch FE V8 rated at 345 horsepower gross, with a 360 horsepower gross Police Interceptor version optional. The hydraulic-lifter 428 delivered quiet big-inch torque for the street, while the race-bred solid-lifter 427 remained available for those who wanted it. Ford built roughly 11,000 7-Litres in its single year as a separate series, and the rest of the line wore a softer facelift of the all-new 1965 body.
