Ford Galaxie
1968 Ford Galaxie Specs & Photos
The 1968 Ford Galaxie picked up federally mandated side marker lights and a more formal facelift, while hidden headlights distinguished the companion XL and LTD series from the exposed-lamp Galaxie 500. The new 302 small-block, rated at 210 horsepower gross with a two-barrel, replaced the 289 as the base V8. It was the final year for the 427, detuned to 390 horsepower gross with hydraulic lifters and a single four-barrel before the 428 took over as the top engine.
The 1968 Ford Galaxie is part of the Galaxie (1965-1968) generation (1965–1968). See the full Ford Galaxie 1965–1968 registry →
