The 1991 Ford Probe continued the first-generation lineup of GL, LX, and GT trims on the Mazda GD platform. The Mazda F2 2.2-liter four (110 hp) was the base engine, the LX offered the optional Ford 3.0-liter Vulcan V6 rated at 145 horsepower and 165 lb-ft of torque, and the GT used the turbocharged Mazda F2T 2.2 rated at 145 horsepower and 190 lb-ft. The 1991 Probe shared its mechanicals with the Mazda MX-6 and 626.
