The 1992 Ford Probe was the final model year of the first generation before the 1993 redesign. It carried the GL, LX, and GT trims on the Mazda GD platform, with the Mazda F2 2.2-liter four (110 hp) as the base engine, the optional Ford 3.0-liter Vulcan V6 in the LX, and the turbocharged Mazda F2T 2.2 in the GT rated at 145 horsepower and 190 lb-ft. The second-generation Probe replaced this car for 1993.
