The 1978 Ford Ranchero continued on the LTD II platform with the same V8-only lineup: the 302 as the base engine and the 351M and 400 optional, all two-barrel V8s rated SAE net. It was offered as the appearance-oriented GT with graphics and white-letter tires, the woodgrain Squire, and the base 500. The Ranchero had one model year left before production ended after 1979.
