while driving to work, the axle decided to suddenly lock up. this is what i found. it is a 10.25 Sterling semi-floating (c-clip) axle

this is the main issue of using a c-clip semi floating axle, if the c-clip falls out or the axleshaft breaks, then nothing keeps the rest of the shaft with wheel attached in place allowing it to slide out
