not a good pic but i mounted the valve covers with spacers and mounted the lower intake manifold.

i ordered 1-3/8 inch valve cover spacers so the valve covers will clear the rockers and studs. they were alot taller than i wanted but i ordered them for 80 bucks. there were a set of 3/8 inch spacer but they were very expensive. i ordered a 1 inch phenolic intake spacer but it ended up being too tall and the itnake was hitting the wiper motor on the firewall. i later bought a 3/8 inch spacer instead so im not worried about clearance issues

i was having trouble finding correct length bolts for the covers so i used small 3 inch sections of all thread rod to make studs and used nylon locknuts. the covers being cast only required 3-5 ft/lb of torque so i thought the locknuts would keep them from loosening

for the intake i bought a cheap stud skit that worked fine. they too were jsut short lengths of all thread rod which is what gave me the idea for the covers
