Gravel collects between the quarter panel & wheelwell top reinforcement, causing rust to blister out along the wheel arch. It must be picked out before it scratches through the paint & galvanizing. Foam caulk backer rod can then be laid across the reinforcement to prevent new gravel from settling here, but it still needs frequent rinsing.
