C-channel brace for below the bed, boxing the fuel pump access panel. The visible side will face down and either have nuts welded on, or be drilled and tapped, for fastening down the access panel.

I cut it to the exact width between the pinch welds, deciding to not notch them for a wider span, since they probably provide some of the longitudinal stiffness. But, in test fitting it, I noticed the driver's side pinch weld is super short in that area so as to not rub against the fuel filler neck. So, I probably over-thought the notching bit.
