Overhead view of a Dana-style axle center section with the differential cover removed, resting on concrete. The ring gear and carrier are bolted in place with yellow gear-marking compound painted on several teeth, main-cap bolts and cast part numbers are visible, and a copper vent line runs to a brass fitting on the housing; the flange still wears flaking red paint.
