Step 12:

Remove the 2 10mm bolts that holds the thermostat housing in place. Remove the thermostat housing, bolts, and spacers. DO NOT REMOVE THE THERMOSTAT. This is a safety just in case some dirt or debris could get dropped into the intake and down into the water jacket inside the head.
