I'm figuring on either a .5 or .75 inch overlap so I marked off .5 inches inside of where the plate will go and I outlined it with white crayon. I will probably cut just inside the line and the hole will be about 9 inches by 9.5 inches. It looks like the cut will be about .5 to .75 inches back from the spot welds.
