Due to the poor health of the economy, the warranties for Mustangs and other Ford cars was cut on everything but the drivetrain to 12 month/12,000 miles. This was noted by a code "1W" on the ownercard. 1970 A new temporary ownercard, shown in Fig. 67 was introduced. The metal strip that was placed on the ownercard contained the door data plate information, but with some changes. Remember that metal door data plates were no longer being used.
