#1, i scavenged the proper plug off a spare dash harness i had laying around, so thats fixed.
#2 I hooked the constant hot (blue) to the Grn/Org wire. Why? because that wire is power TO the map lights. the way it was hooked up before, the maplights came on when the d.side door was opened, instead of the dome light, altho the dome light worked fine with the dash switch, and the p.side door. Now the map lights have a constant 12, so they will work at any time, like theyre supposed to.
#3 The Gray & the Red/Grn are disconnected. The Gray is 12v from the door switch, and is supposed to go to the power for the dome light. This is why the map lights came on with the d.side door opened. The issue here is, i dont know which wire is the power going to the dome light. The Red/Grn does not supply power, so it was hooked to a constant 12, and has been that way since before i bought the truck, which is 5 years ago now. So, i know thats not the power for the dome light otherwise the dome light wouldve been on non-stop for the last 5 years.
So three questions arise.....
#1 Where does the Red/Grn go (why was it hooked directly to 12?)
#2 Where/what color is the wire to power the dome light (what do i hook the gray wire up to)???
#3 The map lights are supposed to be fused, so where should they get their power from? Im assuming there is a cut wire stuffed somewhere, but i havent found it yet. Obviously what i have will work, altho id prefer it is wired correctly.
