A removed cast-iron V8 cylinder head lies face-up on a concrete garage floor beside its old blown head gasket, with four wedge combustion chambers showing carbon-blackened crowns and lighter tan valve faces, and the exhaust ports visible along the head's flange. The used steel-shim gasket above it is stained blue-green and oily, and rags plus a couple of head bolts and a pushrod are scattered around; the photo is date-stamped 10/11/2010.
