This is a typical underhood/chassic Ford harness connector. It's made up wires, a rubber weather-tight piece, the plastic connector, and a red plastic keeper.

Tools needed - preferably a small pic, but a tiny flat-head screwdriver will work, also.

Step 1 is to remove the keeper. You will notice there is small slot (circled). Place your pic in the slot and push the keeper loose. Your connector may have more than one keeper. Be careful, because the keeper may shoot off somewhere.
