The 1969 Toyota Land Cruiser range in the United States paired the two-door FJ40 with the FJ55, the four-door station wagon on a 106.3-inch wheelbase that had joined for the 1968 model year. Both used the 3.9-liter F overhead-valve inline-six with a three-speed manual transmission and a two-speed transfer case. Worldwide cumulative Land Cruiser production had passed 100,000 units in 1968, and the model line was by then Toyota's longest-running nameplate.
