The 1972 Toyota Land Cruiser passed a milestone, with cumulative worldwide production crossing 200,000 units during the year. The US lineup remained the FJ40 in soft-top and hardtop forms plus the FJ55 four-door wagon, all powered by the 3.9-liter F inline-six through a three-speed manual and two-speed transfer case. These were the closing years for the F engine in America, with the larger 2F set to take over for 1975.
