The 2004 Volkswagen New Beetle continued in coupe and convertible form, its second year with the open body. The US engine range covered the 115 hp 2.0 liter, the 1.9 TDI updated to 100 hp with pump-injector fuel delivery, and the 150 hp 1.8T. The air-cooled line was gone; from mid-2003 on, every Beetle built was the water-cooled Puebla car.
