The 2005 Volkswagen New Beetle was the last model year before the 2006 facelift, which brought revised bumpers and lights and a new 2.5 liter five-cylinder base engine. For 2005 the US lineup stayed with the 115 hp 2.0 liter, the 1.9 TDI, and the 150 hp 1.8T in coupe and convertible bodies.
