- 1990, 2.9 / 1996, 5.8 soon to have a 5.0 HO. I was able to get my hands on a marine 5.0 that had a balanced bottom end. I put that into my block, Then i junked the 95 bronco and that had a 97 ford replacement engine. I popped the intake off and it has the roller lifters. those are being put into the HO as well. I also bought a set of 1:7:1 crane roller rockers and a pair of lighting shorty headers. this should be interesting to see how well it runs. as of 6/19/11 i just came across a set of GT40 3 bar heads. going thru those now.
Update: 2013 bought a cam from Comp cam's custom grind. put beehive springs on the GT40 heads. got it together and in. this past summer was pretty good. I've caught a few off guard as who expects a bronco to have anything under the hood. However the cam turns on at 1200, and the auto trans (about 1800 stall converter) out of the hole isn't a man eater. After 1200 RPM It's coming on strong. I'm using the stock 5.0 truck intake, those long runners are nothin but torque. Also put 24 pound fuel injectors in her. For a heavy girl (4,575 lbs) it isn't to bad. Its got way more snap then the 5.8 that was in it. Next is to get the body work done. then on to the bronco II, that's going to be the play toy. and i''ve got new pic's to post so stay tuned!
