The story
Although a barebones XL model, this is a beautiful truck. It had no options originally, and is in the process of being upgraded. I have added the little things, like power locks, keyless entry, and cruise control. Now on to the expensive stuff.
1) Car-PC : use a mini-itx board to run an in car computer for GPS navigation and MP3 audio. Use a 8" touch screen LCD for control. Look into other functions for this computer later.
-This system is built. I have the touchscreen. It works great. I am now working on some custom fiberglass to make it look pretty ;-)
2) Overhead Console : I saw a mod where someone installed the overhead console from a 99 explorer into their bronco. This added storage, a compass, and external temperature. I may choose not to do this, using the in car computer for these functions instead.
3) Audio upgrade. The OEM audio is pretty bad. I listen to blues, jazz, classical, and trance - so clarity is far more important that shaking the car behind me's mirrors. — S Fox
