The 1998 Chevrolet Blazer received a mid-cycle restyle of the second-generation GMT330 SUV, adopting a new front end with a grille and composite headlamps resembling the Chevrolet C/K pickups, plus a revised dashboard with larger controls. It continued in two-door and four-door bodies with the 4.3L Vortec 4300 V6, rated at 190 hp and 250 lb-ft, driving through a five-speed manual or a 4L60-E four-speed automatic. Rear-wheel drive was standard, with shift-on-the-fly four-wheel drive optional.
