The 1991 Chevrolet C/K 1500 upgraded the 454 SS substantially: the 7.4-liter V8 rose to 255 horsepower and 405 lb-ft, and a new 4L80-E four-speed overdrive automatic with a 4.10 rear axle replaced the previous three-speed. The standard line continued with the 4.3-liter V6 and 5.0- and 5.7-liter TBI V8s, with trims spanning the value-oriented W/T 1500 and the top Silverado.
