Chevrolet Suburban
1978 Chevrolet Suburban Specs & Photos
The 1978 Chevrolet Suburban was in its sixth year on GM's Rounded Line C/K platform, the first Suburban generation built with four side doors. Buyers chose between half-ton C10/K10 and three-quarter-ton C20/K20 chassis in two or four wheel drive, with the 454 big block available for heavy towing. At the rear, either panel-style barn doors or a tailgate could be ordered, a choice that ran through the whole square-body era.
The 1978 Chevrolet Suburban is part of the Square Body Suburban generation (1973-1991). See the full Chevrolet Suburban 1973-1991 registry →
