The 1989 Chevrolet Suburban received the front-end update that marks the final square-body wagons, with a grille styled after the GMT400 pickups introduced the year before. Under the new nose it kept the TBI 5.7L and 7.4L V8s and the 6.2L diesel in half-ton and three-quarter-ton, 2WD and 4WD forms.
