The 1975 Ford F-100 was joined by the new F-150, a heavier half-ton placed above it. The 1975 F-100, as the lighter half-ton, received a catalytic converter and unleaded-fuel requirement that the F-150 avoided by sitting just above 6,000 pounds GVWR. The 1975 Ford F-100 used the 300 six (the 240 having been dropped after 1974), the 302 Windsor V8, and the 360, 390, and 460 V8s.
