The 2002 Ford Ranger continued the third generation with its updated engine lineup: the 2.3 Duratec four, the 3.0 Vulcan V6, and the SOHC 4.0 Cologne V6. The Edge trim continued, and the 2002 Ranger 4x4 used the short-and-long-arm independent front suspension with body styles spanning the regular cab and the extended SuperCab.
