The 2002 Ford Taurus carried the fourth-generation lineup forward with the pushrod Vulcan 3.0 V6 at 155 horsepower and the dual-overhead-cam Duratec 3.0 V6. Both engines used a four-speed automatic and front-wheel drive. The sedan and wagon remained available, the Vulcan was standard on the LX, SE, and SES, and the SEL used the Duratec.
