The 2005 Ford Taurus was the last year the dual-overhead-cam Duratec 3.0 V6 was offered, leaving the pushrod Vulcan 3.0 V6 at 155 horsepower as the engine for the final years. Both used a four-speed automatic and front-wheel drive. The Mercury Sable, the Taurus's badge-engineered sibling, also ended after the 2005 model year.
