Ford Thunderbird
1983 Ford Thunderbird Specs & Photos
The 1983 Ford Thunderbird launched the ninth generation with a dramatically aerodynamic restyle on the Fox platform, dropping its drag coefficient to about 0.35 and offered only as a two-door coupe. The standard engine was the 232 cubic inch (3.8L) Essex V6, with an optional 302 cubic inch (5.0L) V8, and a new Turbo Coupe model used a turbocharged 2.3L four-cylinder rated at 142 SAE net horsepower. The design marked Ford's shift toward aerodynamic styling in the 1980s.
The 1983 Ford Thunderbird is part of the Ninth-Gen Thunderbird generation (1983–1988). See the full Ford Thunderbird 1983–1988 registry →
